Outline of the Wind Turbine Generator Paper Model
Introduction:
This “Wind Turbine Generator Paper Model” is a teaching material which Waseda-Lab produced, intending to teach mechanic and environmental conservation. This papercraft imitates a real wind turbine in move and it moves in the same Tip Speed Ratio. It can generate electricity with a gentle breeze caused by an electrical fan and can light up a LED light valve. Most of the parts can be made out from materials easy to purchase, which could be bought in nearby DIY shop or a dollar shop. This paper model even considers the safety of the participants. All the process in this paper craft won’t use any edged tool besides scissors.
Caution:
This papercraft is not a toy nor any product which wouldn’t give any guarantees that every participants could complete this paper craft.
Intended Age:
10 years old or older (Could be done by 7 years old child with help)
Average Assembly work time:
about 2.5 hours
Preparation
- Scissors
- Glue(strong stick shaped or tape shaped glue if possible)
- Base sheets ×4(size A4 thickness 0.22mm matte paper recommended)
- Bamboo skewer ×1(must be in a round shape and 12cm or more in length and 2.7mm in diameter)
- Cotton swab ×1(hollow circular plastic grip, 2.4mm in diameter(1.8mm in inside diameter))
- Plastic Straw ×1(4mm in diameter)
- Rubber bands ×1
- Plastic tape(19mm in width)
- Paper Clips ×7
- PET bottle ×1(1L~2L)
- Conductor leads ×2(10cm change each colors if possible)
- LED ×1(Red VF:1.8V)
- Motor ×1(XiKIT Co. Genemotor XGM-RAor other compatible motors)
※This papercraft base sheets are planned to use the Genemotor XGM-RA by Xikit Co. There are no liability about this papercraft to Xikit Co. Do not ask advise or any kinds of questions about this papercraft to Xikit.Co.
・Papers or cloths may be needed from preventing the table from getting messed up.

Tips for printing out the base sheets
・Printing to a A4 size(210mm×297mmm)、thickness 0.22mm(180g/m2)non glare matte paper is recommended.
・Do not full bleed when printing.
