授業の概要 と方針			リスニングとスピーキングを主としたコミュニケーションの能力を高める授業．日常会話，さらにはディスカッションやプレゼンテーションのための基礎力を養成する．

	総 合 評 価		成績は，試験70%　演習30%　として評価する．到達目標 1 を演習で評価する．到達目標 2，3を試験及び演習で評価する．100点満点で60点以上が合格．

	Introduction to the class， self-intros and textbook introduction， Starting Unit 1 (The Cashless Society).
2	Unit 1 (The Cashless Society)(continued)
	Go deeper into the discussion topic， confirm opinions and conclude discussion. Assess student's ability to discuss the topic.
3	Unit 2 Fast Fashion
	Confirm key vocabulary， give discussion tips and phrases， outline different points of view， then do group work and discussions.
4	Unit 2 Fast Fashion (continued)
	Go deeper into the discussion topic， confirm opinions and conclude discussion. Assess student's ability to discuss the topic.
5	Unit 3 Plastic Packaging
	Confirm key vocabulary， give discussion tips and phrases， outline different points of view， then do group work and discussions.

7	Unit 1-3 review and preparations for midterm exam
	Students practice in pairs/groups discussing Unit 1-3 topics. Review for the midterm and explain how the discussion style midterm exam will happen.
8	Midterm Discussion Exam
	Midterm discussion exam done privately in pairs where students will be evaluated on their ability of discussions in English with a random classmate.
9	Unit 4 Cell Phone Etiquette
	Go over midterm exams. Explain difficult areas. Then introduce new key vocabulary， give discussion tips and phrases， outline different points of view.

	Final exam testing: Students will be evaluated privately in pairs on their ability to have discussions in English with a random classmate.
備 考	後期中間試験および後期定期試験を実施する． 本科目の修得には，30 時間の授業の受講と 15 時間の事前・事後の自己学習が必要である．There will be midterm and final discussion assessments done in class. Syllabus may be adjusted due to unforeseen circumstances. Any changes will be clearly discussed with the students.
